KEYNOTE: IoT—4th Industrial Revolution or a Cybersecurity Armageddon? By Roselle Safran, Cybersecurity Entrepreneur, former cybersecurity operations manager for the Executive Office of the President
Roselle Safran is the Entrepreneur in Residence at Lytical Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage cybersecurity companies. She is also President of Rosint Labs, a consultancy to security teams, leaders, and startups. In addition, Roselle is a frequent speaker on cybersecurity and entrepreneurship for conferences, corporate events, webinars, and podcasts.
Previously Roselle was the co-founder and CEO of Uplevel Security, which was acquired by McAfee. Prior Roselle managed cybersecurity operations at the Executive Office of the President during the Obama Administration, directing the tactical, operational, and strategic work of the Security Operations Center that protected and defended the White House’s network. Before that, she managed analysis teams at the Department of Homeland Security’s US-CERT and spearheaded the development of two cyber threat intelligence platforms there.
Roselle holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from Princeton University.

Panelists:
Devin Zitelman serves as the Director, Strategic Initiatives, for the Washington DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) and is responsible for leading organizational strategy, development and engagement of corporate external activities to enhance WDCEP identity and awareness while supporting the leadership team.
He collaborates with key members of staff, Board of Directors and business leaders to strategize value-add solutions, programs, and projects while overseeing the implementation and fulfillment of all corporate relationship activities.
Prior to his position, Mr. Zitelman served as Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications, for the organization and spent several years at the DC Building Industry Association.
Tom Snyder is Executive Director of RIoT, supporting Internet of Things and disruptive technology industry growth. By day he runs RIoT Labs at HQ Raleigh.
In his spare time, Tom co-instructs Product Innovation Lab, a Forbes award-winning multi-disciplinary course in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at NC State.
Prior to joining RIoT, Tom held an executive leadership role at the ASSIST Center, a National Science Foundation sponsored effort to create wearable electronics for healthcare monitoring. Previously, he spent two decades in product development and technology incubation in NC. He’s passionate about creating and fostering collaborations across disciplines, markets, and cultures.
