That’s exactly where RIoT’s Foundations Program comes in.

RIoT’s Foundations Program is back this summer with a free, hands-on learning experience designed for aspiring entrepreneurs, early-stage founders, and small business dreamers looking to bring their vision to life.

Over the course of six weeks, you’ll learn essential tools to confidently start and grow your business, including:

  • Core Business Best Practices – Understand what it really takes to build a sustainable business, from mindset to day-to-day habits.
  • Lean Canvas – Break down your business idea into a simple, one-page plan using this startup-friendly model that replaces bulky business plans.
  • Customer Validation – Learn how to engage real customers early and often so you’re building something people actually want.
  • Operations 101 – Get smart on budgeting, hiring, leadership, and customer service—the operational backbone of any successful business.

This program is 100% free for participants! We strongly encourage Virginia-based founders and small business owners to register, but is open to anyone, anywhere. Whether you attend in person in Fredericksburg, VA or join virtually, we’ll meet you where you are. This is a great opportunity to tap into resources, mentorship, and a growing network that understands the unique opportunities and challenges in your community.

1:1 Mentoring Sessions:

As part of the program, you’ll receive a 30-minute one-on-one mentorship session with members of the RIoT team during each of the following weeks:

  • Week of August 4
  • Week of August 18
  • Week of August 25

These personalized sessions are a great opportunity to dive deeper into your business goals, ask questions, and get tailored guidance. The exact date and time for each session will be scheduled closer to the program start date.
