Well, that’s a wrap! Thanks to everyone who was able to participate and make our first RIoT Virginia Developer Day 2023 a smashing success. We were thrilled to see the community join us in person at Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg for a day of inspiration, networking, and hands-on learning.

Why Developer Day?

We hold many events throughout the year but this event is geared towards those in the trenches, building IoT solutions in hardware, software and IT systems. Attendees have the opportunity to meet with industry professionals and learn more about the latest tools and products developers use. Developers participating in the event are more likely to maintain their technical currency and industry awareness. Apart from sharing professional knowledge, attendance will likely open up other exciting opportunities.

RIoT is happy to connect those who attended or were unable to attend with any of the speakers or companies that presented. You can read each session description and see who spoke here.

Highlights

We kicked off Developer Day with Access VR. Access VR partnered with the Stafford Museum and Cultural Center to create a virtual reality experience for museum visitors. Attendees had a chance to view the VR of the museum and take a walk through history picking up artifacts and more. We learned how the VR was developed using software and UI/UX design. To learn more about the other projects Access VR are working on visit their website.

From there, attendees had a jam-packed day with five more sessions covering everything from bluetooth, cybersecurity, 5G innovation, smart cities, and how to develop and test innovative ideas from Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).

Mark your calendars
