[RALEIGH, NC] – RIoT proudly celebrates Rachael Newberry, RIoT’s Program Director, for being recognized as one of GrepBeat’s Rising Stars. This prestigious recognition honors individuals who have gone above and beyond to build and support the startup communities in the Triangle and Wilmington, and Rachael exemplifies that spirit.

As the heartbeat of RIoT’s efforts to empower and grow the startup ecosystem, Rachael brings vision, passion, and relentless dedication to her work. She sees the immense potential in entrepreneurs and works tirelessly to create opportunities, forge meaningful connections, and drive innovation—not just for personal success, but for the broader goal of fostering a thriving, sustainable startup community.

Over the past seven years, Rachael has developed RIoT’s flagship accelerator program, RAP, helping startups refine their ideas, scale their businesses, and gain access to critical resources. Her ability to bridge the gap between startups, established enterprises, and community organizations has led to a more connected and resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“Rachael doesn’t just support the startup community—she elevates it,” said Tom Snyder, Executive Director of RIoT. “Her grit, creativity, and forward-thinking mindset make her an invaluable leader in our region, and this recognition from GrepBeat is a testament to the incredible work she does every day.”

As RIoT continues to drive innovation and economic growth through emerging technology, we are thrilled to see Rachael’s contributions recognized. Her dedication and vision are shaping the future of entrepreneurship in the Triangle, Wilmington, and beyond.

We’d also like to congratulate the other Rising Star winners–Zakiya Alta Lee, Jose Alvarez, Jack Fleming, Nannette Stangle-Castor, Rebekah Gregg, Jenn Summe, Chip Kennedy, Lydia Thomas, and JP Maloney–on their accomplishments and dedication to the ecosystem.
